This Ramadan, the European automaker Citroën is hosting the second edition of its CITROËN NIGHTRIDE cycling experience in support of Dubai Cares, part of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).

CITROËN NIGHTRIDE

The 2023 edition of CITROËN NIGHTRIDE aims to celebrate the UAE’s spirit of generosity while also promoting a sense of wellbeing among the UAE community during the holy month. Taking place on 27 March, 2023 between 8:30pm to 11:30pm at Al Qudra Cycling Track, the event welcomes cyclists of all skill levels to join the experience and ride along a 30km or 50km track for a fun-filled night of community, adventure, and exploration.

Citroën has a long history of involvement in cycling. The brand has sponsored several cycling teams over the years, including the AG2R Citroën team since 2021, as part of the company’s broader commitment to promoting sustainable and eco-friendly modes of transportation.

Citroën will donate AED 50 to Dubai Cares for each cyclist participating in the experience, with a target of raising up to AED 20,000. The donation will be directed to Dubai Cares to support the UAE-based global philanthropic organization’s efforts to promote access to quality education for underprivileged children and youth in developing countries and help them reach their full potential. To date, Dubai Cares has reached over 21 million beneficiaries in 60 developing countries.

Neeraj Kumar, Managing Director for European Brands at Stellantis ME, said: “Building on the success of last year’s CITROËN NIGHTRIDE event, we’re delighted to partner with Dubai Cares for the second edition. By supporting children’s education and promoting physical and mental wellbeing among residents, we can create a brighter future for all while having fun and supporting the local cycling community”.

“Citroën is a brand that is inspired by you, our community. We believe in the power of bringing people together and are committed to designing products and services that promote connectivity, community-building, and a brighter, more sustainable future for all” added Kumar.

Abdulla Ahmed Alshehhi, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Cares said: “Initiatives like the CITROËN NIGHTRIDE cycling experience provide a wonderful platform for the UAE community to come together and support a meaningful cause while participating in a physical activity that will boost their health and fitness. We thank Citroën for collaborating with Dubai Cares for the 2nd edition of this cycling event and supporting our efforts to prioritize the role of education in driving human development and progress. Partnerships with private sector companies such as Citroën contribute to our mission and help us create positive impact in the lives of underprivileged children and youth as well as their families and wider communities through transformed education systems.”

As part of its global efforts, Dubai Cares has recently introduced the Framework for Global Education Transformation that calls for a whole-of-society ecosystem approach based on cross-sectoral collaboration to transform education. Based on a new system of partnerships and participation of new education actors, the Framework will allow each community, city or country to adopt, adapt, customize and transform their systems in ways that meet their aspirations. In addition, the organization is the exclusive Education Partner for COP28, where it will be bringing its flagship RewirEd Summit to the conference with a focus on integrating climate into education and place education at the forefront of the global climate agenda.
