The Chevrolet Blazer was first officially launched in 1969. Over several decades it was modified continuously to stay relevant within the market. However, due to the lack of sales, it had to be discontinued in 2005. Fourteen years after, the Chevrolet decided to bring back the Blazer with a remarkable design. With a new shape and dimensions, the car is no longer boxy. 

 

 

The Chevrolet Blazer has an athletic stance on the road. The vehicle has a wide track as compared to its competitors. The overall shape is enormous, which gives the car plenty of presence on the road.

 

Exterior:

 

The new 2020 Chevrolet Blazer is more significant than your average crossover. It strikingly sleek even though its big, bold, and has an aggressive design. I can say this vehicle undoubtedly makes heads turn. Certain design elements stand out, such as the grille, wide axle, high beltline, dual exhaust, and taillights. 

 

 

The  2020 Chevrolet Blazer RS trim highlights the unique features such as the blacked-out exterior, such as the side skirts, roofline, and the most prominent hexagon black mesh grille. The Chevrolet Logo acts as a bowtie right at the center of the grille.

 

 

A subtle RS badging located on the right side on the grille gives a subtle hint to the trim level.

 

 

The dual rectangular exhaust outlets have a special chrome tip making it notable.

The midsize SUV offers three distinct trim levels:

The 2020 Chevrolet Blazer four-cylinder models come only with front-wheel drive while choosing the six-cylinder brings an all-wheel-drive option. The standard AWD can be manually selectable from the rotatory dialer located right below the gear. 

 

 

The front-drive mode disconnects the rear axle for better fuel economy. The top trims such as the RS and Premier models share the same torque-vectoring rear-drive unit. This unit is to balance the power distribution from side to side to each rear wheel, which provides a more agile feel in corners.

 

 

Driving the Chevrolet Blazer RS is smooth. With a touch on the pedal, the power surges through the engine, immediately propelling the car forward. The vehicle is tall and bulky; hence braking takes an effort, but it takes a while getting used to.

Interior:

 

The 2020 Chevrolet Blazer RS dashboard is modern and innovative. It’s filled with buttons that initially makes it overwhelming. Although the buttons are placed systematically within reach of the driver and passenger based on their functions. If you visually divide the dashboard into two halves, each section can be independently controlled by the respective passenger. Some of these buttons are heated/ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Camera Mirror, and much more.

 

 

The dashboard is not as per the standard design, but that’s what differentiates it. The five-inch circular air conditioning ventilation mounted on the center console stands out and placed below the shoulder height. The placement of the vent is unusual since many other vehicles have it at shoulder level, but the corner ventilations do compensate for those angles.

 

What amuses me is rotating the air-conditioning vents can change the climate control setting based on the side you’re sitting. 

 

 

The material used in constructing the interior is mostly padded with soft leather over a semi-hard plastic. 

 

 

The eight-inch color touch screen, called Infotainment 3, is filled with connectivity features. It is responsive to touch commands and inputs. Additionally, it has an organized menu that supports Apple play, Andriod Carplay, and much more. 

 

 

The steering is covered with soft leather providing you that conformable grip in making those quick corners. Moreover, it also has several switches to answer calls, view the engine stats, and much more. The steering has a stiff damper installed, which is perfect for absorbing those shocks from bumpy roads.

 

 

The Blazer is the first Chevrolet to install a glove box that can be locked electronically called the Valet Mode. The compartment is spacious enough for a small handbag.

 

 

The cabin’s space is well utilized, with plentiful legroom and headroom front and rear and multi-adjustable rear seats that slide, recline, and fold flat to create an uninterrupted cargo floor.

 

 

There is plenty of space for five full-size adults passengers, and the seats are comfortable. They are perforated black leather with red accents in the perforations, piping, and stitching. 

 

 

Cargo is large enough to fit three large luggage bags. Folding the second-row seats, we get 64.2 cubic feet of cargo space
