Earlier this year Cadillac Arabia launched the 2020 Cadillac XT6. It is a beautiful 7 seater crossover SUV with bold styling, a luxurious interior and numerous convenience features that strongly position it in the race to be a total crowd pleaser.
We drove the “Premium Luxury” trim of the Cadillac XT6 for about a week and absolutely loved the driving experience. By default the vehicle drives on front two-wheels but you can switch between four selectable driving modes that include All Wheel Drive, Sport and Terrain.
The XT6 is nimble with responsive handling, has a strong V-6 engine and nine-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration is very good with 0-100 km per hour dash clocked at 6.8 seconds (on the sport mode). Electric variable-effort power steering is equipped with an active return assist that makes sharp turns easier. There is minimal body roll and this is something most SUV buyers will love.
While many argue that convenience features are “nice to have” but considering how rapidly driving has changed with the advancement of technology, they are indeed a deal breaker for many millennials. Some of my personal favorite features are:
- Night Vision (perfect for outdoors)
- Wireless charging
- HD Surround Vision Camera
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Adaptive Cruise Control
Cadillac XT6 Specs:
Engine: 3.6 Liter – 6 Cylinder Horsepower: 311 Bhp Torque: 373 Nm Drive System: All Wheel Drive Transmission: 9 Speed AutomaticExterior:
The XT6 has an expressive design with strong proportions. It looks sharp and stylish from the front with a beautifully designed grille that will easily make you fall in love. The Cadillac XT6 Premium Luxury model has an an elevated level of refinement and features 20 inch aluminum alloy wheels. Highlights of the exterior include sleek chrome lines and unique front and rear fascias with red taillight lenses. The illuminated Cadillac Crest hands-free liftgate works with just a swing of the foot under the rear fascia as long as the keys are in your pocket.Interior:
XT6 takes after Cadillac’s contemporary interior aesthetic. The cabin is elegant, with wide surface lines and simple interfaces. The Premium Luxury model is trimmed with exotic wood decor and headlining is suede fabric. Quality and authenticity of materials is seen all around the cabin. The only thing I thought needs reevaluating is the steering wheel. It has one too many buttons and can get confusing for the driver. Front seats are ventilated, comfortable and positioned to give the driver a commanding view of the road ahead. For the second row, there are options to choose bench seating or captains chairs. While both have their benefits, the captain’s chairs are rapidly gaining popularity. You get extra elbow room and more customization, like seat inclination, lumber support etc. XT6 has a giant panoramic roof that once fully opened, fills the cabin with natural light. The cabin is already decently sized but with the roof open, it looks even more spacious. There are two usb connectivity options for the second row, customized air conditioning and an optional rear seat entertainment system. Access to the third row is fairly easy using the remote fold-down feature for the second-row seat or a tip/pitch-and-slide feature. You could also fold the third row seats using a power button if more cargo is need with less people traveling. Cargo space is limited when all three rows of seating are in use, but this a given for most crossover SUVs. The XT6 features seven standard airbags and ensures occupant safety in the event of hard braking or collision using a state-of-the-art restraint system.2020 Cadillac XT6 price in UAE: AED 234,600
