The first Toyota Camry Hybrid was introduced and launched in 2007. This car was a gasoline/electric hybrid powertrain that had an uncanny fuel efficiency and the new body style for that model year. Currently, we have only one trim available in the middle east, which is the Limited Edition.
The 2020 Toyota Camry Hybrid has is a long wheel based sedan that has ample room and luxury while driving. While driving this car, you can feel that it is heavy and takes more time to accelerate as compared to the Toyota Camry recently reviewed. The weight ratio on the Hybrid is excellent, but the body is much heavier due to the additional battery added to the body. However, the Hybrid drives smooth on the highway and within the city. With the perfect height adjustment, I now have the ideal visibility of the road ahead.
While driving passed cars, I could barely hear them within the cabin. Even while driving at low speeds, the engine has a low humming sound, which can barely be heard by the pedestrians. The steering has an excellent response/feedback, which makes it very easy to turn at sharp corners. The car is equipped with a multilink suspension that provides soft and responsive handling over uneven terrain.

The Toyota Camry Hybrid is a 2.4L four-cylinder engine that delivers and output of 208 bhp with a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission (CVT) engine. Since the body of the Hybrid is slightly heavier, the acceleration is 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 180km/hr. This trim is somewhat slower as compared to petrol cars. However, this car does provide an amazing fuel efficiency of 26 km/l within the city and 30 km/l on the highway.
Toyota has been doing its best to differentiate their petrol cars form the hybrids. The current hybrids definitely stand out of the crown with its cutting edge design. The front grills are sleek with angular edges giving it a refined, sharp look as a razor blade. The grille is the highlight and makes the car visually appealing. The body has an aerodynamic curve and a broad stance on the road. The long-wheelbase has the hood stretched out like a bird beak-like shape. The body has a low clearance making it look sportier than its previous models. The hood and bumper seamlessly fit together bare minimum gap with a narrow grille. This small grille is shaped V with the chrome logo flashing right at the center.
The LED headlights are narrow and thin, which run over the 18-inch alloy wheels that are included in the standard package.
The car door is equipped with electric mirrors and chrome door handles with match the paint. The rear includes a short spoiler and optional quad exhaust.
The Hybrids interior is vast with high-quality soft-touch materials with a combination of wood panel accent and leather. The dashboard is clean, elegant with a sophisticated layout. Moreover, everything in that car is covered with premium materials.
The steering is wrapped with soft leather for a comfortable grip while driving. Just behind the steering wheel, the gauge cluster is 7″ TFT displays essential information of the engine such as fuel economy,speed, and maintenance messages.
The seats are covered with soft synthetic leather that is red in color. These are specially made for the sport trim and provides absolute comfort sitting in them. Additionally, the guards on their sides of the seats prevent you from tossing on sharp turns. The height and legroom can be well adjusted to your satisfaction with power levels located on the side. The front and rear seats have ample room for tall passengers to stretch their legs.
The center console is wide and has a very fashionable minimalist design. The console has a few buttons to operate, and most of it covered with a black gloss sheet.
Just below the airconditioning vent is an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment center that includes features such as Bluetooth, and phone-based GPS navigation. Apple Carplay and Android Auto features are not available. The console connects to a six-speaker audio system that is the standard setup. The console displays a birds-eye-view, as well as several camera angles to make parking easier.
Every Camry has two USB charge ports located right next to the gear. Just beside the gear are three buttons to switch the car mode from Sport to eco. There is also an electronic parking brake that can be activated by pull the lever.
The capacity of the trunk is 16.1 cubic feet of cargo. The rear seats have a standard 60/40 split, folding them down grants you access to more space. The trunk and large and can comfortably accommodate two large bags.
