New Traffic Fines to come into effect from July 1st 2019

Ministry of Interior have updated the fine amount for Dubai traffic violations from 1st of July.

Speeding in Dubai: (over the limit)

• More than 80 KPH – AED 3,000 (23 traffic points & confiscation for 60 days)
• More than 60 KPH – AED 2,000 (12 traffic points & confiscation for 30 days)
• Less than 60 KPH – AED 1,500 (6 traffic points & confiscation for 15 days)
• Less than 50 KPH – AED 1,000
• Less than 40 KPH – AED 700
• Less than 30 KPH – AED 600
• Less than 20 KPH – AED 300

Distractions:

Using Mobile phone while driving or any other distraction – AED 800 (4 traffic points)

Reckless Driving:

• Driving a vehicle in a way endangering lives of road users – AED 2,000 (23 traffic points & confiscation for 60 days)
• Driving a vehicle without number plates – AED 3,000 (23 traffic points & confiscation for 60 days)
• Blocking Traffic – AED 1,000 (6 traffic points)
• Jumping Red Signal – AED 1,000 (12 traffic points & confiscation for 30 days)
• Sudden Swerving – AED 1,000 (4 traffic points)

Driving Under Influence:

A maximum fine of AED 20,000 and / or a Jail Term to be decided by court, 23 traffic points and confiscation for 60 days
