General Motors (GM) Middle East is steering towards a transformative future with its 2026 roadmap, introducing Super Cruise, an award-winning hands-free advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), across its Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac lineup.

What is Super Cruise

Powered by OnStar connectivity, Super Cruise marks a significant step toward personal autonomous vehicles (PAVs), offering the region’s first true hands-free driving technology for highways, including trailering; a popular practice in the Gulf.

Super Cruise relies on a sophisticated blend of cameras, radars, GPS, and high-definition LiDAR maps to keep vehicles centered in lanes, ensuring a safe and seamless hands-free experience.

GM has secured licenses for digital LiDAR mapping across the Middle East, with mapping already completed in Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain, and plans to expand further. This technology, paired with OnStar’s real-time communication, sets a new standard for safety and convenience, aligning with GM’s vision of “Zero Crashes, Zero Emissions, Zero Congestion.”

Alongside Super Cruise, GM is rolling out a diverse electric vehicle (EV) portfolio, including the Chevrolet Spark EUV, Equinox EV, and Cadillac’s OPTIQ, LYRIQ, VISTIQ, ESCALADE IQ, and IQL. These models, equipped with intelligent battery tech and home charging solutions, cater to varied customer needs while promoting mass EV adoption. GM’s strategy balances EVs with internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, ensuring flexibility as markets transition.

The #ZeroLimits campaign will educate the region on this mobility shift, while GM collaborates with governments to advance electrification and smart mobility infrastructure. “We’re delivering on our promise of safer, smarter roads,” said Jack Uppal, President of GM Africa and Middle East. With Super Cruise and a robust EV lineup, GM is redefining driving in the Middle East, blending innovation with its 99-year legacy.
