Castrol Middle East is driving female empowerment in the region with a fast-track race car driving masterclass at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The lubricant giant partnered with Emirati drag racer Hamda Taryam to coach a group of 12 ‘Castrol Trailblazers’, who are impassioned women with no previous track experience, encouraging them to pursue their dreams and listen to the voice that drives them.

The iconic F1 venue welcomed a host of racing instructors and safety marshals for the event, hosting the 12 Castrol Trailblazers, who were  eagerly awaiting their training. As well as sharing driving tips and insights, Hamda Taryam, star of the hit Arabic Netflix series ‘The Fastest’, shared a motivational speech with the group.

“Never hold back from starting your engine and racing towards your ambitions,” said Taryam. “You are all leaders, trailblazers, and frontrunners – and we can encourage other women to follow their own dreams too. Women should always support women. Together we can break the bias and help create a more equal society.” she added.

In partnership with VMLY&R Commerce, the event coincides with the global theme for International Women’s Day 2022: #BreakTheBias. The goal of the campaign is to work towards a world with gender equality, free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination. Putting more women on the racetrack is just one way to challenge preconceived ideas about gender roles, while celebrating diversity and inclusivity.
