Aston Martin celebrated a historic performance at the 77th CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, securing victories in the Gold and Silver Cup classes, a runner-up finish in Pro-Am, and a top-10 overall result in front of 128,000 spectators. The British ultra-luxury brand’s Vantage GT3 delivered its best collective result in the GT3 era of the iconic Belgian endurance race.

Gold Cup Glory for Verstappen Racing

Verstappen Racing’s Thierry Vermeulen, Harry King, and Chris Lulham clinched the Gold Cup class in their Vantage GT3, finishing ninth overall. Starting from class pole, the team overcame a fierce McLaren challenge and a Full Course Yellow setback. Vermeulen sealed the win in the final 10 minutes when the rival McLaren suffered a puncture. “It’s an amazing feeling,” Vermeulen said, crediting extensive preparation and Aston Martin’s support.

Walkenhorst Dominates Silver Class

Walkenhorst Motorsport’s #35 Vantage GT3, driven by Romain Leroux, Oliver Söderström, and Mateo Villagomez, dominated the Silver Class, finishing 14th overall. Despite setbacks, including accidents in the lead-up, Leroux called the win a “perfect gift” to the team, redeeming last year’s retirement from a podium position.

Pro-Am Podium for Beechdean

Beechdean Motorsport’s Andrew Howard, Ross Gunn, Valentin Hasse-Clot, and debutant Anthony McIntosh secured second in the Pro-Am class. The #100 Vantage GT3 led for much of the race but fell behind in the morning, only to mount a thrilling late charge, finishing just 25 seconds behind the winner.

Comtoyou’s Early Promise Fades

Comtoyou Racing, winners in 2024, showed early pace with drivers Marco Sørensen, Nicki Thiim, and Mattia Drudi, reaching third overall. However, a technical issue forced their #007 Vantage GT3 out of contention.

Aston Martin’s Endurance Prowess

Adam Carter, Head of Endurance Motorsport, praised the partner teams and the Vantage GT3’s adaptability in one of the world’s toughest races. Aston Martin now looks to the GT World Challenge Europe Sprint Cup at Misano (18-20 July) and the Endurance Cup at Nürburgring (29-31 August).
