Nearly after two decades, Cadillac is retiring the CTS badge from its line up of sedans. It’s replacement unveiled at the New York Motor Show is the Cadillac CT5, The brand new luxury sedan aimed to rival BMW 3 series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C class cars.
A car with fantastic proportions, the 2020 CT5 gives a coupe-like look in the rear as it has a sloping roofline and is 4 inches shorter in length than the CTS. The car is compact and has bold styling with ample leg room, thanks to the extra 1.5 inches in the rear wheel base.
The CT5 is wide with a low nose front thanks to the Cadillac’s iconic pentagon grille design very much still being there. The narrow LED headlights are integrated with the grille while the vertical LED daytime running lights extend from the lower bumper and are connected to the headlights and the front fender.
The grille is available in two trims above the base luxury model.
- Chrome for the Premium Luxury models
- Black for the Sport model
The CT5 cabin is where the upgrades are distinctly visible. It is a brand new design packed with luxury wood, leather and metal finishes. The back seats have good leg room and the passenger comfort has been given special attention.
There is a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system that customers get to choose how to use: by voice, rotary dial controller on the center console, or touch.
As a standard the car comes with active noise cancellation and acoustic glass that remove the outside noise while driving at high speeds.
