As one of the world’s most exclusive destinations, Dubai has a whole world of five-star entertainment, experiences and extravagance to chose from. You can shop ‘til you drop at some of the world’s most exclusive malls and high streets. Take a cruise along the Dubai Canal in a multimillion-dollar yacht or sample some 23-Carat ice cream.
Dubai is also known for its love of petrol. All around the city you’ll find plenty of clues. The streets are lined with luxury sport cars, high end SUV’s and supercharged cruisers. It will come as no surprise to learn that we have some of the best petrol fueled adventures that allow you to drive fast in Dubai.

1. Single Seater Experience
If you always fancied yourself as a bit of a Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel, the Dubai Autodrome offers the opportunity to try out a real race car. You’ll be instructed by one of the tracks race-day professionals who’ll teach you about race lines and getting the most out of the race car. Once you’ve got the particulars under your belt, you’re free to set a lap time around the 1.2km oval track.
2. Drift Racing
If it’s more the smell of burning rubber that the fuel that gets you fired up, drift racing can also be found at the Dubai Autodrome. Sideward and screeching using a new technology called ‘Easydrift’, you’ll learn the basics of counter-steer at much lower, safer speeds. Of course, for the more adventurous you can work your way up to faster speeds with the more experience you have behind the wheel.
3. Dune Buggy
If you’re not familiar with the Dune Buggy, picture a roll cage, with a seat, 4-wheels and an engine. Basic, but brilliant. Dune Buggy experiences are widely available in Dubai. Usually consisting of half a day’s adventure, you’ll be taken out into the desert in your very own buggy. In convoy, you’ll explore the sand hills surrounding the city. Dune Buggies are really easy to handle making them a popular activity for even the more inexperienced drivers.
4. Dune Bashing
If you don’t really fancy the sand in your face with a dune buggy, there is the more traditional 4×4 as an option. From the confines of your air-conditioned SUV, you can hit the desert stopping off along the way for quad biking, camel rides and more.
5. Night Karts
Most of us will have had some sort of go-kart experience in our lives. Down at Dubai’s Kartdrome you can take to their outdoor track after dark with a team of friends for a grand prix style race off. Through the summer they offer an ‘arrive & drive’ late into the evening. We much prefer night karting as it’s a touch cooler than the day.
