Lotus has brought the new Emira 420 Sport to the UAE, giving its two-seat sports car a more focused flagship for the 2027 model year. Orders are being handled by AGMC, who took over as Lotus’s official UAE distributor earlier this year.
The changes extend beyond the engine. The chassis sits 5 mm lower, the aerodynamics generate around 25 kg more downforce and buyers can specify the Lightweight Handling Pack, which cuts up to 25 kg from the car. There are also Multimatic adjustable dampers, improved brake cooling, forged 20-inch wheels, a titanium exhaust and additional carbon-fibre components.
Inside, the 420 Sport gets Nappa leather and perforated Alcantara, carbon-fibre trim and Lotus’s Track Pro telemetry system.
That places the 420 Sport in an interesting part of the market. It is not intended to compete with mainstream performance coupes such as the Toyota GR Supra on value. Its natural competition is the Porsche 718 Cayman and Cayman S, with Lotus offering considerably more power and a stronger emphasis on driver involvement.

The 420 Sport uses a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine derived from Mercedes-AMG, producing 416 hp and 500 Nm. Power goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, taking the Emira from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and on to a claimed 300 km/h.
