Honda Motor Co. is marking the 50th anniversary of its Gold Wing touring motorcycle with updated 2025 models that introduce new paint schemes, badging, and connectivity features while achieving Euro 5 emissions compliance.

GL1800 Gold Wing Tour 50th Anniversary edition

The GL1800 Gold Wing Tour 50th Anniversary edition draws inspiration from the 1988 GL1500, offering two paint options: Eternal Gold paired with Mahogany Brown Metallic, and Bordeaux Red Metallic with black and gold graphics plus gold lettering.

A special emblem on the center console and Smart Key combines a lion’s head with eagle wings and includes “50th Anniversary” and “since 1975” inscriptions. The digital dashboard now shows a unique start-up animation.

Both the Gold Wing and Gold Wing Tour gain wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with upgraded speakers for improved audio at speed. The standard Gold Wing appears only in a new Mat Ballistic Black finish with softened Gold Wing logos on the rear panniers.

Emissions updates include an added O2 sensor and revised engine-control settings to meet Euro 5 standards. Introduced in 1975 as a 1000cc model, the Gold Wing evolved through larger displacements and added luxury.

Honda Gold Wing Key Milestones

Key milestones include the 1980s GL1100 with air-assisted suspension, the 1988 GL1500, the 2001 GL1800 with a six-cylinder engine and aluminum frame, a 2006 airbag, and a 2018 redesign with dual-clutch transmission and modern electronics.

The 2025 Gold Wing models are available for order and test rides now in the Middle East and North Africa, where owners have long displayed customized versions at regional events.
