2019 Toyota Yaris: Review, Specs and Price in UAE

Toyota Yaris has been found parked up outside Pizza establishments as their delivery wagon, the world over since 1999. The Yaris derived its name from ‘Charis’, the singular for ‘Charites’, the Greek goddesses of charm and beauty. We personally find the vehicle to have neither charm nor beauty. Replacing the Starlet, this little run around has experienced somewhat of a facelift in recent times making it slightly more palatable. In this Toyota Yaris 2019 review we’ll be looking at the 1.3-liter SE Hatchback. I test drove the Yaris for 3 days around the UAE and found solid engine performance.  All the extra work on the chassis and body has paid off and it’s a good ride. The handling is fairly accurate, it has decent ride quality and incredible utility for its small size To go with the wider wheelbase and shorter design, the new Yaris comes with an all new McPherson strut system. Giving a 37% increase in rigidity, this has allowed or softer dampeners giving a much smoother ride that previous years. Added to the 17” wheels our model has this makes for a very comfortable ride, brownie points added. While the brake response is good, the Yaris still has drums as rear brakes. Safety has been improved with six airbags and a backup camera. It even has a first aid kit in case you need one.. With a 10.3 second time on the 0-60, it’s fairly nippy for the small engine that powers the Yaris.  Since most Yaris buyers are looking to just commute from one place to another, fuel economy is of utmost importance. I averaged 5.3 liters between Dubai and Abu Dhabi and 7.4 liters whilst treading the traffic jammed roads of Dubai’s city centre.

Exterior:

As far as the exterior is concerned, it’s had a small facelift. The grill has a slightly wider opening and is finished in the ever-popular piano black. 2020 Toyota Yaris The wheel arches seem like they’ve ‘popped’ and the dimensions have changed slightly, it’s a little lower, a little shorter but slightly wider. Yaris Side profile

Interior:

Inside the cabin, there’s plenty of fabric, a new steering wheel and lots of sporty looking trim. 2020 Toyota Yaris It’s a good size for a supermini although access through the rear doors is tight, they don’t seem to open fully possibly presenting issues for comfortably getting a child seat into the ISOFIX points. Back up front, there is a new but fairly standard infotainment screen, featuring all the usual smartphone compatibility and a WiFi function. Yaris luggage space There is enough luggage space in the trunk to fit in one large suitcase and nothing else.
