Toyota Supra was first launched in 1978 as the Celica. From get go, it set the racing track on fire and left fans wanting for more. As long as I can remember, it has been one of the most popular sports cars around the world and a dream car for a generation of true car enthusiasts. It was the year 2001 and the iconic movie “The Fast and the Furious” that reignited Supra’s popularity and skyrocketed it in comparison to other cars of the same era. With the launch of the 2020 Toyota Supra, Toyota can be proud of Toyota Gazoo Racing – its motorsports activities arm of the business that has been constantly working hard to create better cars. I drove the Supra for three days and here is what I felt.

Toyota Supra accelerates very fast, tearing down the straight road
Drives very stiff and exhibits near perfect weight distribution
Hugs the curves and road corners very well
Excellent brake response
Race car cockpit with decent infotainment system
Sweet exhaust sound

Factually speaking, this Supra has a lot more of BMW in it than the Toyota. Built on the BMW drivetrain and platform, the 2020 Supra has a lot less in common than its earlier generation models. It is in fact BMW Z4’s better looking, cheaper twin in many ways. Similar engine and exact same wheelbase. I could go on but there is a time and place for everything 🙂 Bottom line – Do people really care about these facts as long as the car fulfills their needs? and in this case, the Supra ticks all the boxes for most car enthusiasts.
