The 2020 INFINITI QX80 is as masculine as a family SUV can get. It is big & tall, looks quite bulky yet bold at the same time with hints of aggression and lots of space for 8 passengers plus some cargo.
I see this giant SUV to be purpose built for long journeys, keeping all three rows of occupants wrapped around in comfort and luxury. The fuel economy on the highway is decent and while it drops significantly when you are inside the city, it is still not awfully poor. Parking the QX80 is a bit of a challenge in tight spaces but the 360 camera makes things better. So my advice is to valet the car wherever you go!
The handling on the QX80 is very smooth and responsive. Even with its huge dimensions, it is easy to turn, accelerate and stop. Its a 7 speed automatic transmission and while the upward gear shifts are quick and hardly noticeable, the car doesn’t downshift as well as it upshifts.
Technology upgrade in the 2020 model mean that the previous concern of body roll has been considerably controlled. If I were to go on and say that it has one of the best suspensions and accelerations in its class, it wont be untrue.
Acceleration on the QX80 is so good that I attempted a 0-100 km per hour dash quite a few times. While my best was 8.2 seconds, the product sheet says a better driver can achieve it in 7.3 secs.
The only SUV you could compare the QX80 with is the Cadillac Escalade. Both of them are super powerful, luxury SUVs that cost quite a bit. The QX80 in my opinion is better looking, less boxy and has a much better fuel economy and driving dynamics.

The QX80 features an unmistakable exterior. It is masculine, aggressive and has big dimensions but still holds a fluid profile.Highlight in the front is the taller and wider double-arch grille that is lined with chrome and showcases a unique 3D wave pattern. INFINITI has implemented its signature eye-inspired LED headlights in the QX80.
22-inch aluminum alloy wheels have 18 spoke design, are covered in premium liquid metal paint and have all-season performance tyres. They certainly look strong and threatening.
The ground clearance on the QX80 is 9.2 inches, so if you want, you can do off-roading none the less. In the rear we have new taillights, chrome bar and a rear bumper along with the redesigned tailgate.
