The 2020 Acadia Denali is a luxurious seven-seater mid-size SUV with a commanding presence. This vehicle is packed with several options. From the first look itself, you will notice the exterior design is bold and aggressive with a completely redesigned hood, distinctive grille, and accented LED headlamps projecting Acadia’s brazen attitude.
The Acadia has three trim levels:
- Acadia Standard
- Acadia Denali
- Acadia AT4
Currently, we are reviewing the 2020 GMC Acadia Denali, which is a 3.6-liter six-cylinder with 310 horsepower with a 0 to 100 kmph in 6.1 seconds. A nine-speed automatic and front-wheel drive is standard. An all-wheel-drive can be toggled by a controller located beside the driver.
Acadia Denali Specs:
Engine: 3.6L V6 Engine
Horsepower: 310 Bhp
Torque: 365.9 Nm (Active Fuel Management)
Drive System: Front Wheel Drive
Transmission: 9-Speed Automatic Transmission
For a 3.6-liter engine, fuel efficiency has marginally increased from last year. Hence it does not provide the most effective results, but in hindsight, it’s not a gas guzzler. Additionally, the vehicle can tow up to 4000 pounds, which is a lot of power under the hood.
The Denali drives smooth around corners, especially at high speeds. It is forgiving and stable. It would not be advisable to drive this vehicle in the desert, but it does an excellent job on rugged terrain. The car is equipped with adaptive suspension, which is a standard option on Denali. These suspensions automatically adjust the dampers every two milliseconds based on the terrain giving you a comfortable ride.
The 2020 Acadia Denali has a bold new grille inspired by the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The finish on the grille is chrome with a minimalist pattern.
The vehicle has a beautiful 20″ machined-face aluminum wheels that are standard and exclusive. The Denali has its badge very evidently around the car as a sign of prestige.
Located at the back, the Denali has installed a device at the bottom to load cargo more conveniently. The hands-free programmable power liftgate can be activated simply by kicking your foot over the projected GMC logo underneath the left-hand side of the rear bumper, and the boot will rise.
This vehicle has heated, power-adjustable, and power-folding outside mirrors feature new integrated LED turn signals.
The Acadia Denali interior design is eye-pleasing and has the controls within the driver’s reach. The gauge cluster displays detailed information about the vehicle and can be configured as per the driver’s desire.
Surprisingly the tilting and telescoping steering feature was not present around the steering. But having it can add more range to the tall or short drivers as comfort, but it still works for most people. The leather-wrapped steering wheel provides a perfect grip while driving.
Just ahead on the dash is a 6″ colored Head-Up Display that project’s critical information directly onto the windshield so you can keep your eyes on the road. Some of its information includes Speed, Audio, Phone, Navigation, Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, Cruise Control, and Low Fuel, Tachometer, and much more.
Unfortunately, most of the interior material is made of plastic with some parts of leather and ash wood accents.
When it comes to technology, the Acadia offers plenty for the whole family. The GMC Acadia Denali infotainment is an 8″ reconfigurable system. It is a bundle with several features such as the navigation, hands-free, voice-activated calls, send and receive messages. Additionally, it is compatible with Apple and Android car play. The music activated through this panel is delivered through an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system. The touchscreen infotainment system is intuitive and responsive.
A wireless charging pad is just below infotainment and has two ports for charging multiple devices.
The seats are very comfortable and snug. There is enough legroom for all the passengers, even for the second and third rows. They are made of leather that is heated and ventilated. The fabric used on these seats keeps them fresh even during summer.
The second-row seats are easily adjustable and can be tipped forward for easy access to the third row.
While you’re at the driver’s seat, you might be wondering, where is the gear? Yes, this vehicle does not have the orthodox gear stick. GMC has decided to shift towards an electronic gear selector, which is perfect. Initially, it took me a while getting used to it, but once done, I was a master at it. It is responsive and easy to operate. Additionally, it frees up space in the center console.
Cargo space swells from 12.8 cubic feet behind a raised third-row seat to 79 cubic feet with all but the front seats folded down. To put it in simple words, I managed to fit only 3 large suitcases while the seats were folded, so there isn’t much of cargo space available.
