2020 Ford Edge ST: Review, Specs and Price in UAE

The 2020 Ford Edge ST has been developed by Ford Performance, the same team behind the iconic and high performing Ford Mustang.  I was very excited and was really looking forward to driving the Edge ST and tell you what? not one bit disappointed. While driving the Ford Edge ST for a week, I found one of the better driving dynamics, great driver experience, and a healthy dose of power and torque that made me almost forget that I am driving an SUV. The ST’s suspension has been tuned for the liking of motorsport fans. The steering wheel is stiff and the handling is sharp & responsive. Anyone pushing the pedal to the metal wont be disappointed, especially if you are in the “Sport” mode. The 0 – 100 km dash is clocked at 6 secs which is very fast for its class. Sport mode also gives an aggressive throttle response and the transmission holds on to the lower gears for longer. You get sharper engine braking and a resonant exhaust sound that adds to a complete driving experience. The automatic gear shifting is so good that you don’t really feel the need to use the “Paddle Shifters” for manual interaction. The intelligent all-wheel drive system monitors road conditions and automatically switches between two-and four-wheel-drive to deliver the good blend of power, traction and fuel economy. Driving in the city, you can expect a fuel economy of almost 11 liters per 100 kilometers. Another thing I loved is the cabin insulation for minimal engine and road noise even at highway speeds.

Exterior:

2020 Ford Edge ST features new front styling. The wide mesh grille sports the ST badge and not only looks good but also provides optimal cooling to the engine. There are design upgrades all around the car with deep side skirts. Ford Edge ST is equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels and Pirelli P-Zero tyres. Ford Edge ST has new rear styling that features dual-exhaust outlets. If you have the keys in your pocket, you can just wave your leg underneath the rear bumper and open / close the boot without touching anything.

Interior:

The interior in the Edge ST is roomy, neat, clutter free but fairly basic. Steering wheel feels nice and confident with an ST badge embossed on it.  The instrument cluster and infotainment display have a special ST welcome screen but look dated. Ford Edge ST has heated and cooled bucket seats that are trimmed in black leather with inserts made from Miko – a sueded cloth with unique sport perforation patterns. The seats are also embossed with the ST logo, and both the driver’s seat and front passenger seat are 10-way power adjustable. Rear seating is very comfortable with ample leg and head room. You can comfortably seat three passengers and even on a long journey, they wont be complaining. The cargo space was a bit of a surprise to me. It is unbelievably HUGE! You can easily fit in three large suitcase and some more. If I am not mistaken, Ford Edge ST has the largest cargo space in its class.
