The 2019 Honda HR-V ranks fairly high among the increasingly popular segment of crossover SUVs in the middle east.
Being in direct in competition with the Renault Duster, Nissan Kicks, Toyota Rush, Chevrolet Equinox and Hyundai Creta, the Honda HR-V holds its ground by delivering expansive passenger & cargo space and boasting an unbelievably great fuel economy of 16.8 km per liter when driven on the highway.
Only when you shift to S mode on the gear shaft; the acceleration considerably improves. Same is the case when you switch to L mode that gives more power and drives the car in lower gears making it ideal for diving on inclined surfaces.
Handling for the HR-V is good overall and it looks like a fun car to drive but the HR-V has its drawbacks as well. The engine is underpowered and its front seats feel a little uncomfortable when stuck in traffic or driven over long distances.
Infotainment features are limited and there are no parking sensors or camera options. Driver and passenger seats have to be manually adjusted as well.
The headlamp design is very much similar to other Honda cars with an addition of day time running LED lights on the sides. The hood is curved upwards from the middle to give the car basic aerodynamics and an overall friendly look.The rear door handles are hidden high into the panels, very close to the roofline The HR-V is curvy by design and that makes it look more like a bigger hatchback than a traditional crossover. The trunk of the car opens up with the push of a button but has to be manually raised up and closed down. The wheels are fitted with 17 inch tyres.
Front seats have a small shared armrest in the middle with an adjustable cupholder allowing either a bottle or a can to be placed at perfect height for easy access. The rear seats have ample leg and headroom that allows to fit 3 adults comfortably.

The interior design of the 2019 Honda HR-V is not anything like its exterior. It is simple and basic with hard plastic materials on most surfaces. Odometer has both analog and digital displays that show trip information, outside temperature, current fuel economy and other vital engine stats. The steering wheel has a full SUV style diameter and thickness which give confidence while driving.
